In coherence with the Eco-Tourism policy of the Government of Maharashtra, 2008, the Vision and Mission of the MEDB are as follows:

To promote, develop and maintain eco-tourism destinations in Maharashtra while connecting the local tribes and communities to the mainstream, protecting and conserving plants and animal species and ensuring that the environment suffers minimal impact of ever-increasing tourism in the state.
